The June 25, 2022 fundraiser benefit was a big success! Photos and more info on of the fundraiser are on our Facebook page.

Our first Rummage Sale was a success! We raised money and awareness of the building and grounds.

For weeks prior people were eager to donate boxes of items. (Some more desirable then others.) During the afternoon and evening before the event streams of people dropped off more items while venders and our volunteers set up selling tables.

Though it peaked in the afternoon, people continued to drop-by, hang out and spend money until 6PM. A 12 hour day for some volunteers. Even the next day as we began to haul off unsold items several people dropped by and shopped some more.

At 8AM sharp we had a color guard flag raising complete with a bugler. A first ever Miss Douglas Flat was crowned and a life-size 49er diorama was enjoyed by the few who dared enter the miner's shed. The bones of a recently dug up vampire 49er were also on display.

Local artist Judie Cain created an oil painting of the schoolhouse. It sold along with a couple of her other works which she graciously donated. . Here's her website:CainArt.com
