THE MOTHER LODE, WINE AND GOLD COUNTRY: The schoolhouse is seven minutes from historic Angel's Camp, only two minutes from charming downtown Murphys.
Located on Main Street in tiny Douglas Flat CA. Although the building is quite close to Highway 4, it is tucked away in a secluded area with scenic rolling hills in the background.
The Community Center can hold up to 50 people. It is perched on a large lot with plenty of parking.
This is the historic building right next door, onces a Wells Forgo office.
15 minutes from Big Trees State Park, less than an hour from Bear Valley Ski resort. Also nearby are New Melones Lake, Moaning Caverns, Mercer Caverns. And the world's largest crystalline gold nugget is on display at the sprawling Iron Stone Vineyard and concert venue which also hosts the Coucours d' Elegance car show. Ironstone is located in Douglas Flat less than a mile away from the Community Center as the crow flies, however it is on the other side the hills you have to go around through Murphys. This keeps main street Douglas Flat free of the limo and tour bus traffic.
The Murphys area has become a popular a destination for weddings and other big events. Famous for its vineyards and wineries. Lots of fine restaurants, wine tasting venues, hotels and vacation rentals.
